Any “pedantic interpretation of tweets” here is on your part and it ignores his plain words. Trump says Obama did it in four separate tweets. Try to reconcile your suggestion that that Trump was “speaking short hand on Twitter for the Obama administration” with these words:

“How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”

That “bad or sick guy” part is a lot of longhand extra Twitter characters devoted to expressly portraying Obama, individually, as the demon.

Trump twice explicitly says “my phones” yet you want us to believe that the non-pedantic explanation for that is some other people’s phones.

Moving past that, there’s the whole point that the actual suggestion of the New York Times was that the tapping was of Russians, and not Trump and not his campaign staff. You might want to address that part of the N.Y. Times article.

His case is not strong at all. In fact, there is absolutely zero in support of it so far.
