Via Byron York, last week: “There is a counter-intelligence investigation focused on Russia, but the media and the Democrats conflate that with there being a criminal investigation focused on Trump,” [said] a House Republican. “The FBI has fed into this by being coy.”

Horsepuckey, the FBI has not been “coy.” The former head of the FBI flat out directly said the “counterintelligence investigation” included investigating collusion by the Trump campaign to include potential criminal conduct. Seriously, what part of this statement by Comey do you and Mr. York not understand?

the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election and that includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts. As with any counterintelligence investigation, this will also include an assessment of whether any crimes were committed. — Sworn Testimony of Comey Before Congress, March 20, 2017.

He said nothing had changed about that in the testimony before Congress on May 3d, a week before Trump fired him. Trump then said the “Russia thing” was on his mind when firing Comey.

Just today Senator Graham flat out stated the Special Prosecutor’s investigation is a criminal investigation.

With the recent revelation today about what Trump said to the Russians, we know Trump twice said he fired Trump with the intent of killing the Russian investigation. That sir, is obstruction of justice.

Perhaps it is not impeachment worthy . . . yet, but Trump dances closer to that everyday.

In any event, this is a criminal investigation. It has been for sometime. A counterintelligence investigation can be a criminal investigation, they are not mutually exclusive, which makes sense, since espionage is a crime.
