Trump put all his political capital on the line in an effort to repeal it. Of course he didn’t have a reasonable alternative ready to replace Obamacare. It’s not the new policy he cares about. It’s all about undoing the old one.

I am reminded of Dr. Horrible’s opening monologue in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog. He responds to a viewer who asks about his promised heist of gold bars from the bank with his matter transmitter ray. Dr. Horrible proudly holds up a baggie of brown liquid saying it worked but that the gold molecules shifted in the matter transmission. To which he says:

And by the way, it’s not about making money, it’s about taking money. Destroying the status quo because the status is not quo. The world is a mess and I just… need to rule it.
