Today I deleted my X/Twitter account after about a decade on the service. The transfer to Musk has reduced it to a MAGA troll site with Elon Musk himself becoming a leading source of disinformation and Russian propaganda.
Musk’s commitment to free speech is a sham. My account was recently suspended for several days for “suspicious activity.” My only suspicious activity was speaking out against Musk and Trump. Musk flat out lied to the users of his service, stating that he would personally remain non-partisan and would not endorse any candidate. We have seen what happened, and is happening.
Today Musk doxxed previously unremarkable government employees because he thought their jobs should be terminated and he pledged to do so from his Trump granted power of Director of Government Efficiency. It was a senseless exercise in cruelty and humiliation done only to terrorize the people targeted.
I could not in conscience continue to participate in it.
