I understand Newton’s model of gravity had its effects apply instantly across the universe, giving it an effectively infinite speed. Einstein disagreed stating that gravity, and its effects, move in waves at the speed of light. It’s my understanding that Einstein’s version of this was confirmed by observations from the LIGO. It observed that gravity travels in waves, like light, and at the speed of light.
That Einstein was a pretty clever fellow, even if he did have the Uncertainty Principle thing wrong for awhile.
