-The PRA is crystal clear. When Trump leaves the presidency the documents are owned by NARA and belong in their possession, custody and ownership. These words are not confusing:

Game over.
-The FBI went through the documents and in a few hours found the responsive documents. Further, if going through the documents requires more time you ask for more time. You don't submit a sworn statement claiming that a diligent search didn't find any more. You don't hide them so your attorney going through the documents can't find them.
-See PRA above. It was unlawful retention the moment he was no longer President. It was unlawful retention from when NARA asked for them back. Even if you reject that it was unlawful retention after responding to the subpoena which by itself, by law, compelled their return.
