“Successful deterrence requires credibility” and this President has none. He squanders it on improvised empty bombast. He drew a stupid red line that North Korea was sure to cross, and already has. Future red lines drawn by him are likely to receive similar treatment from North Korea. Eventually, they may well stumble across one that is real.

That is a real danger because our President having bluffed so many times before will have every threat he issues treated as just another bluff. His lack of credibility is a very real danger to the security of this nation and world peace. It is a danger that cannot be overstated.
