What lies were uncovered with the Flynn plea?
That Fynn’s contacts with the Russians were a “lone wolf” thing is now known to be lies. Flynn’s confession revealed that his contacts with Kislyak were in coordination with, and at the direction of, senior members of the Trump transition team including Jared Kushner and K.T. McFarland. Thus, various denials of any other transition team members involved in contacts with Russians, to include by McFarland in testimony to Congress under oath related to her confirmation hearings for Ambassador to Singapore, have been revealed as lies.
The nature of the lies was also revealed as for the first time it was admitted that Flynn’s contacts were aimed at undermining the foreign policy of the existing administration by secretly negotiating with the Russians a private deal to tamp down sanctions.
Additional revelations regarding Flynn include that Trump knew Flynn had lied to the FBI when he pressured Comey to drop the investigation and called the investigation of Flynn a “witch hunt.” Thus Trump knew Flynn was guilty when he pressured the FBI Director to drop the investigation. An FBI Director he would later fire when he didn’t drop that investigation.
Finally, Flynn’s pleas also revealed that Flynn lied on his Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) form that he submitted just this March after being fired.
