The Best Name for A Statute Ever.

A legislator in New York has proposed a law compelling the state to release the state tax return of anyone elected to statewide or Federal office from an election in New York. If passed it would mean the state would release Trump’s New York tax return.

The name for the proposed law is pure genius, the Tax Returns Uniformly Made Public (TRUMP) Act.

While the Trump Act would apply only to state tax returns, the same legislator is also sponsoring a bill that would require any candidate for a statewide election in NY to release their Federal tax return. This would require Trump to release his Federal tax return if he ran for reelection and appeared on the ballot in NY.
