Earlier this week Russian state television called for immediate “regime change” asking that Americans “again help our partner Trump to become President.”
Earlier this week this “partner” certainly acted as such when he called upon Putin to release whatever dirt he had on Hunter Biden.
The partnership continues as Russia has fulfilled the former President’s request. Russia has tweaked its Ukraine disinformation campaign to, rather absurdly, involve Hunter Biden. The new Russian propaganda picks up on discredited nonsense about Ukraine bio-weapons labs creating bio-weapons spread by migratory birds. The updated version of this has Hunter Biden involved by seeking investments for the bird scheme.
Of course, this disinformation is only valuable to Trump if other in the Trump/Putin partnership spread it to the American people. The right wing media is happy to oblige America’s enemies when they are Trump’s friends.
Tucker Carlson helped set the path, using his usual technique of feigning to be just asking the question. In discussing the absurd Hunter Biden connection to the bio-labs Carlson failed to inform his listeners that the allegation came from Russian propaganda mills. Instead, they were told this:
“What are the outlines of that story? We’re not sure. But we know it’s legitimate to ask what it means. Why wouldn’t it be? You’re not a ‘Russian agent’ repeating ‘discredited Putin talking points’ if you ask. You’re a good citizen . . . The National Pulse is reporting tonight apparently a private equity firm run by Hunter Biden funded some of the research into pathogens in these bio labs.”
Right wing fake news site “PJ Media” led with the headline: “BOMBSHELL REPORT: Hunter Biden Emails Show He Secured Funds for Biolabs in Ukraine.”
Amazingly, all these sources, having had these Hunter Biden emails for supposedly months, only this week discovered that the emails include this breathtaking proof that Hunter is involved in Ukrainian plots to spread terroristic bio-weapons via birds. Republican politicians stepped in to help once again bringing the Hunter Biden laptop story up yet again, all to the benefit of Russian propaganda.
The Russian propaganda feedback loop quickly kicked in, citing this kind of American “reporting” as proof the Hunter Biden bio-weapons allegations were credible.
For the record, the entire thing is a complete fabrication. The facilities at issue are standard research labs, many actually converted with U.S. help from Russian bio-weapons facilities. The program to do so is not new, and has been quite public for many years.
There is a story here though. The story is of a former American President seeking the assistance of a hostile foreign nation to attack his political opponents. That hostile foreign power has done as asked, creating a partnership with Trump even as Russia wages war against an American ally.
The story here is that Donald Trump is now indebted to Putin. Americans should be very curious as to how Putin will ask that debt be repaid.
