The Hunter Biden deposition is worth reading, which you can do HERE. The reformed drug addict ran circles around the Republican clowns interviewing him. It starts with his opening statement as he walks through the “witnesses” the Republicans have relied on. Let’s talk about some of those witnesses, and what has happened with them.
Devon Archer: A former business partner of Hunter’s. For weeks Republicans touted his coming testimony as a smoking gun. This was going to be the big one, the nail in Joe Biden’s coffin. The witness who would confirm that Joe Biden was on the take. Archer came in, raised his hand for the oath, and testified that Joe Biden had no role in his son’s business ventures and that Hunter Biden always made sure his father was not involved. He described Hunter as sometimes selling the “illusion of influence,” but no actual influence. Archer’s testimony was an embarrassing early bust for Republicans in what would become a series of busts.
Jason Galanis: An associate of Devon Archer with a similar story. When interviewed by Republican representatives he too testified that Joe Biden had no involvement in Hunter’s businesses. Notably, they had to interview Galanis in jail. A lifelong multiply convicted fraudster he is currently incarcerated in federal prison on a ten year sentence imposed in 2019 for defrauding Native American tribes with investment scams.
Gal Luft: Described by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer as a “very credible witness on Biden family corruption.” Republican Senator Ron Johnson said Luft had a “wealth of information” regarding the Bidens’ business corruption. In fact, Luft never had any dealings with Hunter or Joe Biden. What’s more, Republicans never interviewed him in person, contacts were by email, and so forth. Comer complained that Luft suddenly just disappeared. Why is that? Because Gal Luft is a fugitive wanted on charges of illegally pedaling arms and oil. He was arrested in Cyprus for it over a year ago, but jumped bail. His indictment includes charges that Luft, on behalf of the Chinese government, recruited and bribed former CIA Director James Woolsey to favorably influence Trump Administration policy towards China while Woolsey was the Trump Campaign’s National Security Advisor. For more on Luft, read THIS. Put simply, this star Republican witness is a Chinese spy with disturbing connections to the Trump Administration.
Alexander Smirnov: Smirnov is the source of the claim (made to an FBI agent “handler”) that Joe Biden was paid $5 million to get a Russian prosecutor fired who was supposedly investigating, Burisma, the Ukrainian company Hunter Biden worked for. It should be noted the prosecutor was NOT investigating Burisma. Jim Jordan declared Smirnov’s claim as “really the heart of this matter.” Jordan described it as “the most corroborating evidence we have.” Comer threatened contempt proceedings against FBI Director Wray if he didn’t release the document where FBI agents memorialized Smirnov’s claim now known to be lie. Last July Chuck Grassley openly leaked the document touting it as proof of “Biden family influence peddling.” Upon reading it, Republican Representative Anna Paulina declared Biden “100% guilty” of bribery. Marjorie Taylor Greene went all in in declaring Smirnov’s claims as absolute proof:
“This is an impeachable President Biden should be impeached. Secondly, he should be prosecuted. This is unbelievable. It’s a pay-to-play scheme. He took a bribe from a from a foreign national in a foreign country that paid millions of dollars. He needs to be prosecuted for this, and I would argue that he should serve jail time. If we were not politically divided, if we were the United States that used to exist, that is righteous and just, if we were a just nation, Joe Biden would be impeached. No one could argue with this. Democrat or Republican, I would say no one can argue with it now.” — Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Smirnov is now indicted for those very lies he told the FBI. Further, the indictment alleges that Smirnov passed on those lies at the behest of Russian intelligence. In short, these lies against the Bidens were a Russian Intelligence Operation that the Republicans happily played along with. You can read more about Smirnov HERE.
Tony Bobulinski: Is about the last guy standing for the Republicans. His testimony that Joe Biden was involved with Hunter business endeavors lacks specificity as to exactly what it was, and is contradicted by paper records and the testimony of a host of others. For example Bobulinski claims he was part of a February 2017 meeting, including Hunter Biden, where the parties planned a venture with a Chinese firm that included Joe Biden being paid. The problem is that literally ever other participant in that meeting says that Joe Biden part never happened and that Bobulinski was not even at that meeting. In May 2017 the meeting resulted in the notorious “10% for the big guy” line in an email. As the email chain continued no one responded to that line or ever treated it seriously. The deal they were discussing, never happened.
These are the star witnesses of the Republican impeachment effort against the Bidens. This is what House Republicans have been doing rather things that would help the American people.
