Trump Says Tax Reform “Is Not Good For Me, Believe Me.” I Don’t Believe Him.
In unveiling his long awaited tax reform proposal President Trump declared:
“Our framework includes our explicit commitment that tax reform will protect low-income and middle-income households. Not the wealthy and well-connected. They can call me all they want; I’m doing the right thing. And it’s not good for me, believe me.”
“Believe me” is one of the President’s favorite phrases. Few people are less entitled to be believed based on nothing but their word. Put simply, the President is a chronic liar. There is no such thing as an honest Birther and that huge lie is merely the tip of a very big lying iceberg. My own articles here document numerous additional cases of the President’s lying. I’ll link some of those at the bottom of this article.
Thing is, I shouldn’t have to just believe him. I should be able to verify it simply by examining his tax returns. Tax returns that contrary to ever other modern Presidential candidate he alone has refused to produce. I figure there must be a reason he hasn’t. One likely reason is so it can’t be proven that he is lying yet again.
The last year for which we do have Trump’s tax return is 2005. In that year Trump’s proposal to eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax (which only affects the well to do) would have netted him $31.5 million in tax savings. The wealthy and well connected hate the AMT, and contrary to the suggestion in the quote above, they will very much love Trump for eliminating it. Trump’s heirs will also massively benefit from his proposed elimination of the estate tax.
The bottom line is, I’ll believe his tax plan won’t help him when he proves it by releasing his taxes. Until then, this lying son of a bitch can just piss off.
I’ll believe his tax plan won’t help him when he releases his taxes!
Please note, I did not regard it as appropriate to call the President “son of a bitch” until he made that sort of thing acceptable. So Dear President Trump: I don’t believe you. I won’t until you prove your claim by releasing your tax returns. Until then I will presume that you are, once again, just a lying son of a bitch.
Now for some of the links regarding other verified Trump lies. This also hardly scratches the surface of the tip of that very big iceberg.
