Trump’s Timely Lie.

The Trump Cover Time Should Use.

In the category of Trump has to lie about everything, whether it be big, or be small, we have Trump tweeting that Time Magazine called him about being “Man of the Year” but he turned it down.

The thing is, it is not true. It’s a stupid lie. Time Magazine quickly responded with their own tweet.

Time’s content editor, Alan Murray, was more direct.

This Man of the Year thing is another one of Trump’s pathological petty obsessions. Two years ago he responded with his over the top petty petulance when Time Magazine chose Angela Merkel as its Person of the Year. Trump went out of his way to insult the German leader.

In one of the more bizarre manifestations of this mental illness Trump had fake Man of the Year covers hung at his resorts.

Seriously, what kind of pathetic person has a need to do that sort of thing? He was Time’s Man of the Year last year, isn’t that enough?

Let’s just take the events of the last day. The President of the United States of America decided to sit down at his computer and deliberately invent a lie about Time Magazine contacting him to be “Man of the Year” and him turning it down. He fabricated it out of whole cloth.

Sure, this is not an important lie. It’s petty and trivial nature is much the point. He lies about little things, he lies about big things, he lies about things that don’t matter and he lies about things that do matter. He prefers lies to truth. He demeans the office of the Presidency and America in general with this stuff.

Many wonder that I describe the President as mentally ill. With his doing stuff like this, how can anyone not agree with me?

In the meantime, I am pleased to report that I have received inside information on who the next Time Magazine Man of the Year will be.
