Since the infancy of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency, the media has fixated on “the first 100 days” of every administration.

While campaigning Trump himself fixated on the first 100 days of his Presidency. Yes, the media reported that he did, that’s what the media does.

The new president’s successes have been largely through appointments and executive action.

Most his EOs have either been just symbolic “barking” or invalidated by the courts. This includes his two efforts at a travel ban, which in themselves welched on his campaign promise to ban all Muslims from entering the country. Yesterday a court enjoined his defunding of sanctuary cities even though Trump’s own attorneys tried argue in court that the EO was a toothless, meaningless, exercise in the President merely using his bully pulpit. That’s just pathetic considering how the President and his cronies were Trumpeting this EO to the American people.

In terms of appointments, I’ll grant you Gorsuch, but not much else. The Michael Flynn appointment was a disaster and the potential criminality involved with that is not yet resolved. He has a clueless Secretary of Education and an EPA head Hell bent on dismantling his own agency. He’s fired anyone with competence an experience in the State Department contributing to a series of foreign policy gaffes. Let’s not forget Bannon an alt-right nationalist who described Richard Spencer (of “heil Trump” fame) one of the “leading intellectuals” of the alt-right movement. Beyond that his appointments include a series of ethically challenging blatant nepotism from his daughter to sons to son-in-law.

The President promised repeal and replace of Obamacare within 100 days. Contrary to your suggestions that won’t happen. He promised to build his wall and make Mexico pay for it. Then he made the government shut down a hostage to Congress making the American people pay for the wall, before backing down. No money for the wall in the bill now.

What Trump has found time to do is distract from his own agenda with a series of dumbass lies. Lies like his claim that he would have won the popular election but for 3 million votes illegally cast. Lies like his fixation on crowd size at his inauguration. Lies like his constantly labeling as “fake news” what turn out to be accurate news reports. Lies like claiming Obama tapped his phone. Damaging to foreign relations lies like claiming British intelligence tapped his phones. The list is practically endless.

John F. Kennedy observed at the beginning of his presidency: “This will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finalized in the first one thousand days…”

Yes, but that was JFK, a statesman. The blustering blowhard demagogue that is Donald Trump promised much on Day 1 that he did not deliver, and even more by Day 100 that he has not delivered on.

One wonders how many times Trump will have to lie to them for his personality cult of followers to give up on him.
